Momma was my second horse patient at the D.E.L.T.A. Rescue. I had the opportunity to work with her for many months in effort to improve her chronic discomfort associated with a front limb conformational abnormality.
Momma’s ability to walk and stand in a more natural position bettered with acupuncture treatment, dietary supplements, injectable chondroprotectants, Chinese herbs, farrier work, and Western pain medication. Ultimately, the severity of Momma’s pain became too severe and she was unable to stand. At this point, Momma was humanely euthanized.
Momma will be missed, but the memory of her positive energy will remain with us forever.
