I’m so pleased to have reached the grand old age of eight years on June 15th, 2013. After all, my dad says that pets are "seniors at seven", so I guess I'm now a senior plus one.After having previously endured three bouts of typically fatal Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA), I’m actually feeling better than ever thanks to the holistic wellness plan my veterinarian/dad has created for me.
For my eighth birthday, I had the cool experience of meeting another animal who looks like a much taller version of me having a longer neck: an alpaca. I was so psyched to meet him at the one year anniversary celebration of the Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center (SPARC) that I was jumping for joy. He sniffed my ears and let me reciprocate. I have a new-found love of this species and wish I could have hang out with him for the rest of the day.
