When it comes down to it, making home-prepared pet foods is something that any pet owner can do. Of course, doing so requires owners to be informed about appropriate food ingredients and preparation.
There are also health reasons why feeding your pet non-commercially-available foods and treats is a good choice. Unfortunately, the quality of ingredients entering most pet foods and treats is feed-grade (instead of human-grade) and substances known to be toxic, carcinogenic, or other health-deleterious effects can be present and included on the product label or may be hidden or excluded from the label.
