It was so fun to attend the Long Beach Pride 10K run to cheer on my dad and uncle Stevie. This is my first time going to this race, but I have attended other runs my dad has done, including the 2009 Los Angeles Pride 10K and the ASYMCA Mud Run at Camp Pendelton in San Diego. All of the runners, sounds, and potential food items that get dropped on the ground typically make for an exciting and satisfying day for me.
My other dad and uncle Charlie held onto me at the finish line so that I got to see all the racers finish but not get my sensitive toes trampled on. If I had my way, I would be out there participating in the race. Unfortunately, 10K worth of running is not really the healthiest activity for my body even though I am fully recovered from my latest IMHA occurrence.
When my dad crossed, I enthusiastically barked for him to sprint faster in the final few lengths to beat that guy seemingly trying to pass him. Fortunately, my dad won out. After he finished, he had to keep running to cool down. I was so excited to see him that I kept on barking even though the race was over. I completely missed uncle Stevie finishing, but I gave him a congratulatory lick a little later.
I also got to see my friends Martha Smith and Elisa Jordan from I Love Dogs supplements, as they came out to support my dad as well. We met a few months back at the I Love Dogs/Hotel Maya Tweet Up event, so it was great to see them again. I Love Dog’s Reishi with Green Tea supplement really helped me in my recovery process (see How Dietary Supplements Helped Me Recover From Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) and I continue to enjoy taking the yummy liver flavored treat every day.
Well, there will be many other exciting outings in the coming months, as my dads and I have some great travel plans lined up.
