What type of strategy do you and your veterinarian take regarding your dog’s vaccinations? Very often, pets in the U.S. are over-immunized, which can lead to mild to life-threatening health problems. Now, things are changing as a result of the The Spectrum Group’s VacciCheck rapid antibody titer test for Distemper, Adenovirus, and Parvovirus. Instead of simply giving your canine companion a Distemper combination vaccine because you received a card in the mail that it is “due”, consider evaluating his blood for antibodies produced from previous vaccinations by having your veterinarian run a VacciCheck test. If your dog’s antibody levels are sufficient, then providing a Distemper booster isn’t necessary and your pooch will be spared from potential health consequences associated with immune stimulation. The means by which VacciCheck can be used to help shelter dogs was recently featured on News 4 KRNV-DT Reno.
