Are you aware that periodontal disease is one of the top diseases we veterinarians see in our canine and feline patients (with obesity also being close to the top)?
Periodontal Disease can have irreversible consequences, such as tooth loss and damage to internal organs like the heart, lungs, kidneys, liver, and others.
The good news is that periodontal disease is preventable, so all owners have the opportunity to make a real difference in keeping their pet’s mouth and whole body healthier by committing to daily home dental care. Owners should also partner with their veterinarian to determine a dental care plan beyond what can be done at home, as besides prevention anesthetic dental is the best means of addressing periodontal disease.
